What is the Affordable Connectivity Program?
Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a longer-term replacement for the EBB short of Emergency Broadband Benefit, designed to help keep families connected to the Internet. Qualified households can receive a monthly credit of up to $30/month (up to $75/month for customers in Tribal lands) towards their Internet and mobile services.
The Affordable Connectivity Program, established by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), is a program that aims to ensure that households have access to the broadband internet services they need for work, education, healthcare, and other purposes.
Eligible households can benefit from a reduction of up to $30 per month towards internet services, while households residing on qualifying Tribal lands may receive up to $75 per month in support. Additionally, eligible households may be eligible for a one-time reduction of up to $100 towards the purchase of a cell phone or tablet from participating providers.
It’s important to note that the Affordable Connectivity Program has some limitations, including a restriction of one annual service reduction and one device reduction per household. However, the program is designed to provide valuable support to eligible households and help bridge the digital divide, making high-speed internet more accessible to those who need it most.
